Accomodation Guide

Sheen Falls Lodge Accomodation Guide

Sheen Falls Lodge is a magical, timeless haven of peace, situated just outside the charming town of Kenmare in beautiful County Kerry.

The hotel nestles serenely at the foot of heather-covered hills and overlooks the cascading Sheen River Waterfalls. Gracious living is a tradition here. You can relax in spacious lounges, where log fires blaze and the professional, friendly staff, are more than ready to please.

Fresh local produce, home grown herbs and innovation are combined with flair to bring you the very best of Irish and International cuisine. One can select a vintage from the Hotel's cellar and should you catch a salmon along the 15 miles stretch of private fishing grounds, the Chef will even smoke it for you.

Now a little history - back in the 17th century, the Earl of Kerry chose as his seat the high ground overlooking the falls of the Sheen River, where it tumbles dramatically into the tidal estuary. The house he built on this site now forms the core of the present day Sheen Falls Lodge.

Today, from the hotel, the visitor observes the views of woodland, water and mountains, much as they were in the Earl's day, but do so in the comfort that is Sheen Falls Lodge.

ROOMS: 60 impeccably appointed guestrooms including 8 suites, 8 superior and 44 deluxe rooms. All rooms offer panoramic views of woodlands and water, mountains and rolling green countryside. There is also a self-contained apartment available with up to 3 bedrooms.

LOCATION: Southwest Ireland, 1 mile from Kenmare town

FACILITIES: Health & Fitness Centre • Swimming Pool • Billiard Room • Boutique • Tennis Court • Equestrian Centre • Clay Pigeon Shooting • Salmon Fishing

NEARBY GOLF COURSES: South Western Ireland is an area richly endowed with quality championship golf courses, links and parkland. Killarney provides 2 great courses in Killeen & Mahony's which are 45 minutes from Kenmare. Other superb courses in the region include Tralee, Waterville, Ballybunion and The Old Head of Kinsale, which are all within two hours drive. Lahinch is 3½ hours from Kenmare and Adare, 2½ hours.

NEARBY ATTRACTIONS: There are plenty of interesting sights to check out in the area. The Dingle Peninsula, Ring of Kerry and Lakes of Killarney provide some of the thrills, while those who wish to obtain "the gift of the gab" may make the 1½ hour trip to Blarney to kiss the famous 'Blarney Stone'. For the shopper, Cork City is a veritable haven and is 60 miles (1½ hours) from Kenmare, while Killarney, which is 45 miles away, is also an excellent shopping town.
