Golf In Spain
A longtime favorite of Europeans, Spain's Costa del Sol is home to one of the highest concentrations of world-class golf courses to be found anywhere in the world.
Located in the Andalucia region of southern Spain, the Costa del Sol is often referred to as the Costa del Golf - 'the Golf Coast', offering no less than sixty courses within a small geographic area. If linked together in a straight line, the courses would stretch from one end of the Costa to the other, but designed by famous names such as Nicklaus, Ballesteros and Olazabal, the holes zigzag from the beaches to the hills, through forests and over lakes.
Among the many fine courses located along this stretch of the Mediterranean coast is Valderrama, site of the 1997 Ryder Cup Matches, and San Roque, the winter home of the European PGA.
Andalucia is a melting pot of culture and entertainment. With flamenco dancing, bull fighting, tapas bars and passionate, carefree and friendly people, Spain has all the ingredients for a truly memorable trip on and off the golf course.
